The Game of Life is a cellular automaton created by Dr. John Conway in 1970. It is a zero-player game, meaning its evolution is solely influenced by its initial state. Players engage in the Game of Life by establishing an initial configuration and observing its progression.
The rules of Life:
- Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbors dies, due to underpopulation.
- Any live cell with more than three live neighbors dies, due to overcrowding.
- Any live cell with two or three live neighbors remains alive in the next generation.
- Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors will be revived.
